Bronze is often paired with engineering plastics to improve load bearing capacity. LG2 is a modest strength bronze for pumps, valves and bearings and is a good general-purpose bronze. Aluminium bronzes AB1 and AB2 offer superior corrosion resistance and are used as land rings for PTFE chevron packings in the chemical industry. Phosphor Bronze PB1 and PB2 offer medium to heavy load bearing capacity with self-lubricating characteristics and are used as non-roller bearings inside heavily loaded cable sheaves and rollers where engineering plastics would otherwise fail.
